There is 4 grams of sugar per teaspoon.
In other words, every teaspoon of sugar equals 4 grams.
Let’s see if I understand this correctly:
In one 8oz. glass (1 cup) of Organic Apple Juice not from concentrate; ingredients: juice from ripe, whole, organic certified apples and ascorbic acid, there is:
- 32grams of naturally occurring sugars
- in 8 ounces of juice!
That translates into:
- 8 teaspoons of sugar in one 8 ounce glass of juice!
Which begs the question…would you ever just eat 8 teaspoons of sugar? Most people answer a resounding NO! Even my kids who generally like sweet things would yell, NO! So, then why would you or anyone drink that much sugar and assume that it is OK to do so?
If and when my kids or I have juice, it may be in a smoothie which happens infrequently (and balanced out with protein and fibre) or to have a limited quantity of juice at any one time; like 2 ounces.
How do you fuel?
